3 Most Impressive Waterfalls In The World

There’s something special about being in the presence of a waterfall. Maybe it’s the sound of thousands of litres of water crashing down every second, the cool mist that gets sprayed in the air or just the feeling of an enormous amount of energy being released.

Whatever it is, spending time near a waterfall is always a special moment, especially if it is a massive waterfall like Niagara Falls, Angel Falls or Iguazu.

In this article we will explore our three favourite waterfalls in the world and explain what makes each so special.

1) Niagara Falls

Being a Canadian company that offers tours to Niagara Falls, this is undoubtedly our favourite waterfall in the world. In fact, it is actually considered the most famous waterfall in North America, and quite possibly the most famous in the world, attracting over 30 million visitors in 2016 alone.

Aside from being considered one of the most famous waterfalls in the world, Niagara Falls is also considered to be the most powerful waterfall in the world in terms of flow rate. During peak flow season, the volume of water flowing over Niagara Falls averages a whopping 6,400 cubic meters per second.

Although it is not surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery like the other waterfalls on this list, Niagara Falls has by far the easiest access and most view points to take in it’s incredible power. If you are a fan of waterfalls, definitely consider taking a tour of Niagara Falls if you are ever in the area.

2) Angel Falls

Another spectacular waterfall that should surely make it to any “best waterfalls in the world” list is Angel Falls in Venezuela. Although it is nowhere near being the most powerful waterfall in the world, it is the tallest waterfall in the world with a staggering 807m uninterrupted drop.

Due to its impressive height, Angel Falls is a very popular sight for base jumpers and other adventure enthusiasts.

3) Iguazu Falls

No list of world renowned waterfalls can be complete without including Iguazu Falls. Located on the border of Argentina and Brazil, Iguazu Falls is the largest waterfall system in the world, consisting of more than 270 individual waterfalls and cascades.
